I blame TaB. I know this is a thinly masked excuse for my disorder, but at this point I'll take whatever I can get.
I'm cold.

TaB is trash!
I'm serious. I feel ill after drinking a little less than a full can. Whatever they say about phenylalanine is probably true. The brain disease part, at least. Mad props to Reagan Game's dramaturg for finding the TaB, though. That was some nice work, Big J.
As far as "RG" goes... the outlook isn't great. We're going to be missing one of the authors/performers, so it's possible that we may postpone. I think we'd all like to do something though, and if the space is still available it's likely there'll still be a show--just not sure which one. Whatever it ends up being, we understand and encourage it if you feel let down by the hype.
Jesus Christ that was an awful soda. What did I put in my mouth? I hurt literally everywhere.
That said: good art is worth the high price. And after doing a little research with Jeremy (or, Big J--the above mentioned 'turg), we found that during his first day in office, Reagan fired the head of the FDA because he refused to approve aspartame. We also found that Andy Warhol definitely commented on "Coke" and "The President." We're currently in the process of fact checking the quote about the women and TaB. If we're lucky, it's been entirely doctored by www.ilovetab.com, and it's our story to break. But as it is, we'll probably just clear it so we have something to put in the program notes. Better that way.
TaB... you're the William Forsythe of soft drinks.

p.s. Please ignore the earlier post. It was an unauthorized publication by our Webmaster, bless his heart, and in no way represents Theatre of The Epic disappointment. I promise this will never happen again.

TaB
In researching the history, composition, and availability of TaB soda for next weekend's show, I found a sub-culture of people with a story well worth telling. In the 45 some years since its creation, the drink has spawned a cult following. It has been claimed to have "sass." Some have called it carcinogenic. Others have come to believe it is no longer produced; this apparently, is a myth. According to http://ilovetab.com/, "many people think that TaB was discontinued in the late 1980s, early 1990s, but TaB has been in continuous production since 1963." If you would like to sign a petition to save TaB, you can.
Next Sunday may be a busy day. If performers become available, it is likely that we will be producing "Reagan Game"--one of our earlier pieces, which is going through a second round of development. The show would begin at 8pm. If you have received an invitation, you know where it is being held. If you have not received an invitation and you believe this to be a mistake on our part, please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate as big of an audience as possible, but it will be difficult enough to find TaB for 25. Sunday is also the day of the intramural softball championship, and my team may be playing in it. Busy busy busy!
FRANCO
p.s. I knew about the quote below and was quite fond of it; however, I had always thought it was "Coke.*" For the purposes of this blog entry, I'm glad it's TaB.
“You can see a billboard for TaB and think: Nancy Reagan drinks TaB , Gloria Vanderbilt drinks TaB . Jackie Onassis drinks TaB, and just think, you can drink TaB too. TaB is TaB and no matter how rich you are, you can’t get a better one than the homeless woman on the corner is drinking. All the TaBs are the same. And all the TaBs are good. Nancy Reagan knows it, Gloria Vanderbilt knows it, Jackie Onassis knows it, Katharine Hepburn knows it, the baglady knows it, and you know it.”
- Andy Warhol from America
*TaB is a product and registered trademark of the Coca Cola family. So, in a way, Andy is talking about Coke. And I was right.

the problem with friends
he applies for a study abroad program. he gets in. they send him an acceptance package.
assume for a minute that my friend didn't get accepted. then: he would have gotten a "rejection package."
much more Epically disappointing that way. my friend's a scrub.
